6:30pm I Was There – Celebrating Montreal Hip-Hop

March 9 @ 6:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Join us in Montreal as we celebrate the city’s rich hip hop history at “I Was There!”—a national archiving initiative organized by Northside Hip Hop Archive. We will be celebrating Butcher T’s (bio below**) contribution to Montreal’s hip hop history musical tributes by Nomadic Massive, and Strange Foots & Narcy. Butcher T will be interviewed by Duke Eatmon & Kapois Lamort

The event is free. For more information, visit the Northside Hip Hop Archive website, or the Facebook event page.

**Anthony “Butcher T” Scharschmidt brought New York style hip hop DJing to Montreal, and provided musical accompaniment on Canada’s first urban music radio show alongside Michael Williams on CKGM’s Club 980 in Montreal. Butch continues to wow new and old fans alike. Butch currently has several media projects in the works, which include: net radio, recording projects and sound engineering. In 2006 Butch also attended the Stylus awards and during that evening two Hall of Fame awards were presented. Toronto’s Sunshine Soundcrew and Montreal’s Butcher T were the first DJ’s admitted into the Stylus DJ Awards Hall of Fame.
