Free performance of ‘Julius Caesar’ at McGill, July 9, 6:30 pm

July 9, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Repercussion Theatre will present a free, public performance of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar on McGill’s lower field (July 9, 6:30 pm). The production features an all-female cast, and will be on tour throughout Montreal from 7 July to 4 August.

Widely recognized as one of the greatest political dramas of all time, Julius Caesar investigates the fine line between personal ambition and the general good. By staging Shakespeare’s masterpiece with an exclusively female cast, this performance also opens up pertinent questions about the relationship between gender and power. As is always the case with Repercussion productions, audiences can expect an exciting, first-rate theatrical experience, complete with stage combat, live drumming, and a strong aesthetic style.

Chairs will be available to rent. The performance will be cancelled in case of rain.

The event is hosted by McGill’s Institute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas (IPLAI) and the Early Modern Conversions project (www.earlymodernconversions.com).
